Summary: The BI Engineer role focuses on creating and editing visual content to enhance data representation for a professional medical society. The position requires transforming data into compelling visuals and integrating various tools for predictive analytics and reporting. The role is remote and involves collaboration with data teams to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a strong background in statistics and data visualization, particularly with Tableau and Python.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and editing visual content including illustrative box plots, charts, and graphs.
  • Transforming data sets, quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling visuals using necessary calculations.
  • Utilizing statistical software and tools to conduct data analyses and support the development of interactive reports based on the data.
  • Integrating Tableau server and reports with APIs, single sign-on, or other applications such as R or Python for predictive analytics and real-time data reporting.
  • Providing visual, technical, and editorial guidance.
  • Working closely with the application and data team to help promote content including reports, briefs, commentary, and visual data.
  • Meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with ACR’s Data Analyst.
  • Participating in defining best practices around report development, testing, access management, and report refresh scheduling.
  • Documenting various processes, workflows, and functionality.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • A degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in Statistics or Statistical analysis.
  • Ability to perform complex statistical modeling independently.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Reporting.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Tableau certification.
  • Excellent visual skills, including demonstrable design knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Tableau Extensions and API.
  • Advanced ability to draw insights from data and communicate them to stakeholders.
  • Experience working with AWS big data technologies (Data Lake, S3, Redshift, Athena).
  • Strong understanding of database schemas and querying tools.
  • Experience with SQL, Stored Procedures & writing complex queries.
  • Experience working with different Tableau platforms.
  • Experience with HIPAA-regulated data.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and flexibility to change priorities when needed.
