Summary: The SQA Engineer – NPI role at Ricardo's Performance Products division focuses on ensuring the quality of purchased parts from concept to production within a hybrid work environment. The position involves auditing suppliers, managing quality assurance activities, and collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality products across multiple industries. Candidates should possess experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, particularly in the automotive sector, and be prepared for domestic and international travel. This contract role is expected to last between 12 to 18 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Auditing suppliers and contributing to the nomination process.
• Conducting Supplier Quality Assurance activities including APQP, PPAP, and surveillance visits.
• Creating and managing customer quality requirements for the supply chain.
• Generating goods receiving inspection documents for pre-production and production phases.
• Approving series processes and parts at product launch.
• Collaborating with procurement, design, and system engineers to ensure cost-effective and quality parts.
• Engaging in proactive and reactive supplier improvement activities and problem resolution.
• Participating in continuous improvement by developing new quality-focused processes and procedures.

Key Skills:

• Experience in NPI and/or Supplier Quality Assurance.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP and various manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of geometric design & tolerancing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with quality systems and tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Flexibility for travel and possession of a driving license.
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of automotive technology and product development.
• ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 auditor training.
• Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing & six sigma.
