Summary: The Senior Reporting Actuary role at Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets involves managing and participating in actuarial reporting processes for Syndicate 457, focusing on Solvency II and other reporting requirements. The position requires effective communication of results to senior management and collaboration with finance to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting. The role also includes mentoring junior staff and supporting various actuarial reporting tasks. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review quarterly Solvency II calculations and Lloyd’s reporting processes.
- Oversee the workflow of actuarial reporting staff and ensure timely delivery of results.
- Support the creation and presentation of key results to senior management for approval.
- Participate in other Lloyd’s reporting processes and support Munich reporting requirements.
- Assist with quarterly actuarial IFRS17 processes and review data submissions.
- Develop junior staff through training and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Collaborate with finance on joint deliverables to ensure consistency of results.
- Monitor data quality for reporting processes and escalate issues as necessary.
- Assist in producing actuarial reports and contribute to other reserving tasks.
- Promote good conduct to achieve optimal outcomes for customers and policyholders.
Key Skills:
- Extensive actuarial experience in the Lloyd’s Market or with Munich RE.
- Minimum six years of experience, including three years in Lloyd’s Reserving and Reporting.
- Knowledge of FCA regulations and Lloyd’s requirements.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- Experience managing multiple work strands in a time-pressured environment.
- Proficiency in actuarial modelling techniques for financial reporting.
- Current knowledge of Solvency II, UK GAAP, and FRS17.
- Experience managing junior actuarial team members.
- Interest in automation of actuarial processes.
- Willingness to mentor junior team members and enhance reporting knowledge.
