Summary: The Senior Legal Officer - Contract Solicitor role involves providing high-level legal support and advice to the Council, focusing on commercial projects. Responsibilities include drafting legal documents, offering advice, and ensuring compliance with legal obligations. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality, timely legal and commercial advice to the Council, its officers, and elected members.
• Draft contracts, construction contracts, grants, and other commercial documents.
• Represent the Council and deputise for other Council Officers.
• Ensure compliance with relevant professional and Council standards.
• Prepare and present training programmes to maintain up-to-date legal knowledge.

Key Skills:

• Qualified and admitted as a Solicitor or called as a Barrister or CILEx Lawyer.
• Substantial post-qualification experience.
• Significant knowledge and experience in Contract and Commercial matters.
• High standard of drafting, negotiating, presentation, communication, and personal organisation skills.
• Thorough understanding of current Procurement legislation and subsidy legislation.
