Summary: The Data Platform Architect (GCP/dbt) role involves designing and implementing a high-performance data architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) while leading a team of data engineers. The position requires evolving existing data platforms to meet strategic goals and ensuring robust data governance and security. The role is remote with occasional travel to client sites and is outside IR35. The contract duration is six months, with interviews scheduled for the week commencing April 7, 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a scalable, secure and high-performance data architecture.
• Evolve existing GCP-based data platform architecture to meet strategic goals.
• Develop and maintain a scalable, robust, and secure data architecture encompassing all source system data, the Lakehouse, and the consumption layer.
• Define data architecture security and access requirements.
• Lead the development of a complete and robust logical data model for the Lakehouse.
• Develop robust data models and ingestion pipelines to optimize data accessibility.
• Define security and governance frameworks for data storage and access.
• Support data analytics and Business Intelligence efforts with a future-proof data platform.
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, driving best practices in cloud data management.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience in data platform architecture with a focus on GCP, GCS, Big Query, and cloud data solutions.
• Strong background in ETL processes and data governance.
• Hands-on expertise with Airflow, DBT, and modern data pipeline tools.
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for leveraging data to drive business impact.
