Job Title: Programme Manager Agile Delivery (NHS/Central Government)Location: London (4 days on-site per week) Day Rate: Competitive, based on experience (Outside IR35)Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract, with potential for extensionAbout the Role:We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager for an exciting 6-month contract with NHS England. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the Central Programme for a complex, multi-workstream initiative that s critical to the NHS's transformation agenda.As the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for setting up and managing the PMO, driving agile delivery, and ensuring effective governance across the programme. You will work closely with a Senior Programme Director, who engages directly with National Directors and senior stakeholders, while you maintain accountability for the successful execution of programme objectives.You ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, making a direct impact on the programme's success.Key Responsibilities:Lead the setup of the Central Programme, including PMO, programme governance, and management structures.Oversee the launch and coordination of six workstreams, ensuring they align with the overall programme objectives.Implement a Control Room approach for monitoring and managing programme activities.Drive agile delivery across the programme, fostering a culture of agile working that extends beyond digital projects.Work in close partnership with a Senior Programme Director who engages directly with National Directors and senior stakeholders to drive successful programme outcomes.Provide strategic direction to the PMO team and ensure effective resource management across all workstreams.Key Skills & Experience:Experience in programme management within large, complex government or public sector environments (e.g., HMRC, Cabinet Office, NHS).Expertise in agile programme delivery, not limited to technology but as a broader operational approach.Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple workstreams in a high-pressure environment.A strategic thinker with experience in programme governance, risk management, and performance tracking.NHS experience is a bonus, but not essential.
