As the company continues to scale, they are seeking a highly motivated Financial Accountant to join their dynamic finance team on a contract basis. Role Overview: The company is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to support their finance operations during a period of growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, and contributing to the company's financial performance. The role will involve collaborating closely with senior leadership to provide insightful financial analysis and help drive the business forward. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with UK GAAP and other regulatory requirements. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Manage the year-end financial audit process, liaising with external auditors and providing necessary documentation. Support tax filings, VAT returns, and other statutory compliance requirements. Reconcile financial discrepancies, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions. Assist in developing and improving financial processes, controls, and systems. Prepare financial reports and analysis to support business decisions and strategies. Work with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and product, to ensure accurate financial data. Key Requirements: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent). Strong experience in financial accounting, ideally within a technology or digital business environment. Solid knowledge of UK GAAP and other financial reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Xero, QuickBooks, or similar is a plus). Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams. Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A solid understanding of technology companies financial needs is advantageous.
