We re looking for an experienced Digital Designer (websites, not physical products) who wants to work on web projects that make a positive difference. You ll be working alongside some of the world s leading mission-driven organisations, helping them to turn ideas and knowledge into social progress.This is a 2-3 month contract covering one of our digital designers who is going on sabbatical from the end of February to the end of April 2025 (ideally we would like someone to start in early February to facilitate a smooth handover.). In this role, you will join a wider digital team that includes other digital designers, branding specialists, UX strategists, and developers to help design websites for our clients.You will be working on digital design concepts and rolling out new websites, as well as updates and improvements to websites in our existing portfolio. With the support of the wider team, you will be able to develop your solutions independently and will be given creative freedom in responding to the requirements of each project.Expected qualifications:Excellent portfolio of prior work, showcasing your experience in designing content-rich, accessible and responsive websites:Excellent typography skills;Good understanding of online accessibility and WCAG standards;Ability to interpret complex briefs and develop creative, user- and content-focused solutions;Excellent knowledge of Figma, including proficiency in the use of auto layout and variables;Good knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop;Good client communication skills.Desired non-essential qualifications:Experience with data visualization and infographics;Experience in animation and good knowledge of Adobe After Effects;Familiarity with designing for WordPress and/or Drupal;Familiarity with Webflow.Principle duties, responsibilities and accountabilities:Working in Figma to design concepts and roll out concepts;Support the UX strategist in developing wireframes;Work within the design system and creating well-structured artwork in Figma;Executing design tasks to a high standard, working efficiently on tasks individually and with the wider team;Communicating and liaising directly with the development team, QA-ing websites to ensure high quality of delivered work;Coordinating with the digital project managers to estimate and manage task load;Liaising directly with clients to understand the brief, present designs, and help steer the client in preferred directions.If all this sounds good to you, then do get in touch.
