The Salesforce contractor role centres on the ability to implement, configure, customise, integrate, and administer the Salesforce platform, which is the world's leading CRM and enterprise cloud platform and one of the most active specialist contracting markets in the UK technology sector. The Salesforce ecosystem is broad, encompassing Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, Revenue Cloud, and the Salesforce Platform itself, alongside a vast range of third-party applications built on the AppExchange. Contract engagements arise across the full project lifecycle: discovery and requirements definition, architecture design, declarative configuration and custom development, data migration, integration with adjacent systems, user training, and post-go-live support and optimisation.
Salesforce contractors are expected to have deep, certified expertise in the specific Salesforce products and clouds relevant to the engagement. Salesforce Administrator certification is the baseline credential and is expected across all configuration-focused roles.
