The work varies significantly by context: in investment banking or corporate finance settings, Financial Analysts build valuation models, prepare transaction materials, and conduct market and sector research; in commercial or operational finance roles, they support budgeting and forecasting, prepare management reporting, and conduct variance and scenario analysis. The breadth of the Financial Analyst contracting market means that engagements range from relatively junior reporting and data extraction roles through to senior analytical positions with significant commercial influence.
