Summary: The Team Officer role within the Youth Offending Service in Birmingham focuses on working with young offenders and their families to prevent reoffending and support rehabilitation. The officer will also be responsible for preparing court reports and ensuring a restorative justice approach. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement diversion programs to reduce reoffending.
- Manage and monitor young people going through court and referral panels.
- Compile and present Pre-Sentence Reports in line with national standards.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies and local communities.
- Ensure a restorative justice approach, addressing victim needs.
- Provide support for young people on Youth Rehabilitation Orders.
- Participate in staff training, development, and supervision.
Key Skills:
- Previous experience working within the Youth Justice or Criminal Justice sector.
- Strong knowledge of youth rehabilitation programs and criminal justice processes.
- Excellent communication and case management skills.
- Ability to liaise with multiple agencies and coordinate interventions.
- Experience preparing court reports and working with young offenders is desirable.
