Summary: The Barbering Trainer role is focused on delivering Barbering Level 1 and 2 qualifications to small groups of prison-based learners in Islington, North London. The position requires the development of engaging teaching strategies and monitoring of learner progress to support their long-term goals. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive learning environment while collaborating with educational staff. This is a full-time, temporary position within the Offender Learning Sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and differentiated Barbering Level 1 and 2 curriculum to small groups of learners.
• Develop and implement engaging teaching strategies that meet the needs of all learners.
• Monitor and assess learners’ progress, providing feedback and additional support as needed.
• Collaborate with other educational staff to enhance the learning environment and curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and compliance with institutional regulations.

Key Skills:

• Experience in developing an engaging and differentiated curriculum.
• Hold QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Degree or equivalent subject specialist qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
• Proven track record of teaching to a good or outstanding standard.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
