Summary: The Waste Client Manager role involves overseeing the Councils' waste collection and disposal services, managing a £30m Integrated Waste Management contract, and ensuring stakeholder relations. The position requires resolving contractual disputes and developing new service solutions in compliance with government legislation. The role is primarily remote with one day per week on-site and is classified as inside IR35. This is an initial 3-month full-time contract based in Southwest England.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Client Officer for the Councils' waste collection and disposal service provider, managing the Integrated Waste Management contract.
  • Resolve contractual complaints and disputes, mitigating risks and liabilities to the council.
  • Develop and procure new services in line with government legislation.
  • Undertake client and contract management with the waste disposal and collection company and other contractors.
  • Manage Health and Safety performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure effective waste management and customer service.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring of expenditure related to waste contracts.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of waste collection, disposal, treatment, and street cleansing.
  • Experience in client and contract management.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and compliance.
  • Ability to develop and procure services in accordance with legislation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Budget preparation and financial monitoring experience.
