Summary: The VMware Specialist role involves leading the upgrade of a telecom provider's VMware Horizon environment to the latest Omnissa Horizon version. The position requires expertise in VMware technologies and the ability to deliver comprehensive documentation and training. This is a 6-month contract based in Essex with a hybrid working arrangement and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and upgrade VMware Horizon, including ESXi and vCenter components
- Update VDI clients to Windows 11 with the latest Microsoft Office
- Optimise and configure AppVolumes and DEM
- Apply CIS Level 2 hardening across the environment
- Deliver full documentation, training, and handover
