Summary: The role of VMWare Automation/Infra Engineer involves leveraging extensive experience in virtualization technology and infrastructure engineering to enhance the Internal Cloud Platform. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting virtualized infrastructure incidents, designing solutions for resource optimization and VM migration, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position requires strong technical skills in VMware and automation tools, along with the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide troubleshooting and solutions for virtualized infrastructure incident cases.
  • Design and develop solutions to optimize virtualized infrastructure resource usage.
  • Facilitate multiple teams testing on the same virtualized infrastructure.
  • Understand configurations for VM migration scenarios to ensure application safety.
  • Design and develop solutions for VM migration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new infrastructure and features.
  • Provide support for customer inquiries.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in supporting VMware environments and technologies (vSphere, vCenter, vROPS, NSX, SAN).
  • Strong experience with development and automation tools (e.g., vRealize Automation, Ansible, git, GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Experience with programming languages (e.g., Shell Script, PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with operating systems (e.g., Linux Servers and Windows Servers).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Strong expertise in VMware migration strategies and methodologies.
  • Good knowledge of agile software development principles and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean).
  • Knowledge of application services (e.g., OS, DB, Middleware, Network).
  • Knowledge of tooling services (e.g., DNS, AD, Storage, NAS, Anti-virus).
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamically changing environment.
