  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Support the collation and actioning of feedback reports post-event.

Key Skills:

  • Experience/understanding of the Conference and Events industry.
  • Knowledge of the Greater Manchester and North West commercial events market.
  • Proven track record in proactive sales within events, hospitality, or venue-based industries.
  • Experience using IT and various software packages including Ungerboeck.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High standards of personal presentation.
  • Capacity for creative and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent team building skills and experience in relationship development.
  • Proven ability to manage under pressure and meet targets.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in customer-focused environments.

The Purpose

The Event Sales Executive will play a critical role in generating new business for Manchester United’s event spaces by identifying leads, developing relationships, and converting opportunities into sales. This role requires a strong understanding of the local and regional events market, and a relentless drive to achieve and exceed revenue targets.

The Role

Working as a team to deliver / exceed the annual event sales targets

Capture all enquiries’, ensuring information is available so conversion rate reports can be provided.

Capture all costs and ensure correct charges are applied to ensure profit margins are maintained

Principal Accountabilities

  • To ensure all sales enquiries are handled within the sales guidelines, SOP’s and enquiry handling standards
  • To communicate effectively with clients throughout the booking process to ensure a full understanding and management of client requirements are captured and delivered. Providing advice and support to clients during the process.
  • To maintain a comprehensive understanding of the venue and its capabilities in order to best advise clients on the logistical aspects of their event.
  • To support the VIP Experiences and United Events Manager with any administration duties linked to prospective events.
  • Conduct site visits and venue show rounds with prospective clients, promoting the benefits of Old Trafford as a premium event venue.
  • Collaborate with the Event Delivery and Operations teams to ensure smooth handovers and exceptional client service.
  • To maintain an overview of both upcoming events and matches to ensure a widespread knowledge of the full business
  • To participate in all aspects of training and development
  • To support with the collation and actioning of feedback reports post event

The Person

We are looking for someone who has

  • Experience/understanding of Conference and Events industry
  • Knowledge of the Greater Manchester and North West commercial events market is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in proactive sales within events, hospitality, or venue-based industries.
  • Experience using IT and the ability to use a variety of software packages including Ungerboeck
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with attention to detail and the ability to deal with a wide range of clients at all levels.
  • High standards of personal presentation
  • Capacity for creative and strategic thinking to develop events and business opportunities
  • Excellent team building skills and experience in relationship development
  • Proven ability to manage under pressure and work to targets and tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate customer service experience with customer focused environments
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to use your own initiative to problem solve and make decisions
