Summary: The Underwriting Assistant role is a 3-month fixed-term contract based in the City of London, focusing on processing new and existing business for a Lloyd's Syndicate. The position involves administrative tasks related to underwriting, including managing submissions and communication with the underwriting team. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of the insurance industry and be available immediately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process new and renewal submission emails received from Underwriters.
  • Add emails and attachments to an internal filing system and index them.
  • Forward emails to the technical team using a template response.
  • Create new or renewal policies in Workview and file/index submission documents.
  • Maintain regular communication with the underwriting team to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Send CAT modelling requests to the CAT team via email when required.
  • Perform ad-hoc additional tasks as needed.

Key Skills:

  • Good understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Experience with underwriting administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in using internal systems for filing and indexing.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with the underwriting team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
