Summary: This role as an Undergraduate Machine Learning Engineer focuses on researching and implementing AI and ML techniques for the Smart Sweeping project, aimed at automating truck-mounted sweeper functions. The position involves collaboration with various engineering teams to develop control software and ensure compliance with relevant standards. The candidate will also engage in testing and validation of software on prototypes, contributing to the overall design and safety of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creation of CNN & Deep learning systems.
- Testing & Validation of the software on the bench and on a real-world prototype vehicle.
- Creation of code and systems to operate on a microcomputer platform.
- Ensure software compatibility with smart products connected by telematics.
- Liaise regularly with other members of the Engineering team for cohesive design.
- Contribute to maintaining high levels of housekeeping and attention to health and safety.
- Any other duties which may reasonably be required.
Key Skills:
- Studying for AI / ML / Computer Studies / engineering degree.
- Knowledge of Computer vision techniques.
- Proficient in Python.
- Knowledge of Data structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge of Containerised approach – Docker etc.
- Knowledge of Linux Systems.
- Interest in engineering design and control systems.
- Knowledge of automotive electrics and electronics preferred.
- Knowledge of mobile hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.
- Ability to coordinate multi-task projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team.
