Summary: The Multi-Site Transport Manager role involves overseeing transport operations across multiple sites in the South West, focusing on compliance, driver engagement, and vehicle safety. The position requires hands-on leadership and a deep understanding of transport regulations, ensuring that all operations meet legal standards. The successful candidate will manage a fleet and engage with drivers to maintain high operational standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring full O-Licence compliance, including tachograph management, driver hours, WTD, and vehicle maintenance.
- Engaging with a team of professional drivers operating 7 days a week.
- Liaising with workshops to maintain vehicle safety, LOLER checks, and planned maintenance schedules.
- Conducting meaningful driver debriefs to ensure accountability and adherence to legal requirements.
- Preparing for internal and external audits, ensuring every site is inspection ready.
- Working with planners to ensure robust delivery schedules are adhered to.
- Managing checks and controls to uphold fleet safety and reliability.
Key Skills:
- National CPC (International also welcome).
- ADR certificate or experience with hazardous goods.
- Proven experience as a dedicated Transport Manager, ideally across multiple sites.
- Deep understanding of O-Licence undertakings and DVSA compliance.
- Proven people management skills.
- Strong driver engagement skills.
- Formal safety qualification such as IOSHH, NEBOSH.
- Competency in Microsoft Office (Excel especially) and familiarity with fleet systems like Paragon, TrakM8 and TruTac.
- Experience managing multi-drop operations.
- Background in regulated industries or high-compliance environments.
