Summary: This role is for a Trainee Accountant/Graduate Accountant in a firm specializing in the creative industries, particularly in entertainment sectors like Film and Theatre. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, liaising with clients, and ensuring compliance with professional standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements from client trial balances or books of prime entry
• Liaise directly with clients to gather necessary information at the start of a job
• Address client queries related to entertainment industry issues
• Collaborate with the Creative Industries tax department staff
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
• Manage your own workflow and communicate progress to managers/department heads
• Work to both statutory and client-imposed deadlines
• Ensure compliance with professional standards and ethics
• Update and manage the client database
• Review and follow up with clients whose period end has passed within 4 weeks
• Assist with clerical and administrative duties, including typing, printing, answering calls, scheduling appointments, and email correspondence
• Carry out other tasks as required within the job scope

Key Skills:

• A relevant university degree ideally in accounting, finance or mathematics
• A good academic background
• Excellent communication skills
• An interest in working with theatre clients
• Some exposure to preparing accounts would be ideal but not essential
