Summary: The Test Engineer (Automation) role involves designing and implementing automated test scripts in a public sector digital transformation programme. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automated test scripts using tools like Selenium (Java), Cypress, or Playwright.
- Perform API testing using tools like Postman or automated with Java Rest Assured.
- Execute automated test suites, log defects, and work closely with developers for resolution.
- Maintain and improve test reliability, CI/CD integration, and framework enhancements.
- Engage with cross-functional teams and participate in agile ceremonies.
Key Skills:
- Selenium, Java, Maven (Automation testing)
- API testing – manual (Postman/Insomnia) and automated (Java/Rest Assured)
- Cypress, Playwright (JavaScript frameworks)
- BDD/TDD (Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG)
- CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab
- Docker knowledge
- Accessibility testing (WCAG standards)
