Summary: The Senior C&S Temporary Works Engineer role in Manchester involves leading the design and delivery of civil and structural engineering projects, focusing on both temporary and permanent works. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver civil and structural analysis, calculations, reports, and technical specifications.
- Provide specialist input into temporary works design (for two positions) or permanent works (for one position), ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Communicate design requirements effectively to internal BIM teams to support accurate model development.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment, coordinating with other disciplines and construction teams.
- Attend site visits, design reviews, and client meetings when required.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, offering technical guidance and oversight.
- Present confidently and authoritatively in front of clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and technical compliance across all deliverables.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience, including proven experience in Temporary Works.
- Strong background in civil and structural design within major infrastructure or building projects.
- Minimum BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (MEng advantageous).
- Chartered status with ICE or IStructE preferred (or strong experience working towards it).
- CSCS card required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate engineering solutions.
- Ability to work independently and manage technical packages to tight deadlines.
