Summary: The Technical Project Manager will oversee complex technical projects within a leading global technology company, focusing on collaboration across business and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions. This role requires a proactive individual with strong project management skills and the ability to navigate dynamic environments. The position involves stakeholder engagement, risk management, and the application of best practices in the software development lifecycle. The contract is for an initial duration of 9 months and is based in either Manchester or London with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the driving force, collaborating with business and technical teams to deliver world-class, scalable, secure, and flexible solutions.
- Engage with project sponsors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define and deliver complex features.
- Identify bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
- Plan and manage multiple parallel projects with strong oversight of milestones and dependencies.
- Drive clarity in ambiguous situations by leveraging technical expertise and strong business acumen.
- Identify inefficient processes or resource wastage, implementing changes as needed to maximize efficiency.
- Track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Maintain clear communication by producing concise, accurate project updates, including status reports, meeting agendas, and follow-ups.
- Apply best practices to the software development lifecycle (SDLC), adapting approaches to align with team-specific methods.
- Develop integrated project schedules, ensuring timelines factor in potential delays while remaining ambitious.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and security teams to align technical delivery with business objectives.
- Provide clear and structured updates to senior leadership, ensuring visibility of project progress and risks.
- Facilitate workshops, design reviews, and planning sessions to align on effort estimates, resolve conflicts, and ensure project goals are met.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5-8 years of technical project management experience, ideally within large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proven track record in delivering complex technical programs.
- Strong understanding of technology concepts with the ability to communicate effectively with developers and technical teams.
- Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making skills.
- Experience in Agile project management frameworks and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Ability to manage competing priorities, foresee challenges, and proactively address potential blockers.
- Experience working within global technology companies or high-growth environments is desirable.
- Comfortable managing large cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
