Summary: The Band 6 Occupational Therapist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for delivering patient-centered care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. This role requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aimed at improving patients' quality of life. The position demands strong assessment skills and the ability to manage a complex caseload independently. A minimum of six months NHS experience is mandatory for applicants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and deliver tailored occupational therapy interventions for patients undergoing cancer treatment
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to address physical, emotional, and social challenges
- Educate patients, families, and carers on strategies to manage daily activities effectively
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development initiatives
Key Skills:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience in oncology or working with patients with complex needs (preferred)
- Strong assessment and rehabilitation planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a varied and complex caseload independently
