Summary: The Technical Transformation Programme Manager will lead a strategic infrastructure modernization program focused on delivering a next-generation, on-premise platform that incorporates Infrastructure-as-Code, full automation, and AI-enabled operations. This hands-on role requires a complete re-architecture of infrastructure design, provisioning, and operation, emphasizing automation and intelligent control. The position involves significant stakeholder engagement and cultural change management to adopt new infrastructure practices. The role is based in Cambridge with a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a modern, automated infrastructure platform with AI-operable capabilities
- Oversee key infrastructure components such as data centre expansion, programmable compute, and software-defined network/storage
- Enable automation-first delivery models with observability, self-healing, and policy-driven control
- Implement and mature GitOps workflows, IaC pipelines, and CI/CD processes across engineering teams
- Lead programme governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
- Partner with senior leadership to align on strategy and execution
- Drive cultural change and adoption of code-first, automation-led infrastructure practices
Key Skills:
- Proven experience delivering large-scale infrastructure transformation programmes
- Deep understanding of hybrid/on-prem platforms, automation, and declarative infrastructure
- Strong grasp of Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, DevOps, and platform engineering practices
- Experience with automated, self-healing, and AI-operable infrastructure models
