Summary: The Technical Business Analyst role in Glasgow involves acting as a subject matter expert on core system functionality and business processes. The position requires collaboration with project and development teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring high-quality analysis deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. The analyst will also support testing and manage stakeholder expectations while utilizing data analysis skills to enhance data models. This is a 6-month initial contract position classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as functional SME and interface between business/project teams and development team.
- Work with Project Managers to agree on work breakdown structure and documentation needs.
- Estimate effort for analysis deliverables and meet agreed timelines.
- Read and validate detailed business requirements.
- Produce functional specifications for the required solution.
- Maintain high-quality analysis artefacts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the Development team in translating functional specifications into technical specifications.
- Utilize data analysis skills to verify inbound data and address defects.
- Determine enhancements to the data model based on project data requirements.
- Collaborate within the BA team to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
- Define functional and regression test approaches and manage test plans.
- Review test observations and manage issue closure for deliveries.
- Report RAIDs and provide regular status updates on analysis deliveries.
- Achieve excellent business understanding of products and data for regulatory reporting.

- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst in regulated industries.
- Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Strong skills in eliciting, analysing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Experience producing high-quality analysis artefacts.
- Understanding of complex system functionality and data modelling principles.
- Experience validating inbound data and performing gap analysis.
- Experience supporting system, functional, and regression testing.
- Familiarity with creating and managing test plans and test cases.
- Proficiency with tools like Jira, Confluence, SQL, and Excel.
- Experience in Agile or hybrid project delivery environments.
