Engineering Coordinator

Summary: The Engineering Coordinator / Project Manager role at Scottish Power involves developing and coordinating engineering solutions for transmission networks, focusing on civil, plant, protection and control, overhead lines, and cables. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed designs for transmission networks.
• Assess engineering documentation and ensure compliance with SPT requirements.
• Define engineering requirements for System Construction Authorisation and Project Technical Specifications.
• Ensure designs and construction practices comply with legislation and operational requirements.
• Provide technical assessments on design, construction, and operation areas for tender submissions.
• Support project management in the assessment of bids and tender submissions.
• Prepare and review design drawings and specifications for construction and procurement.
• Promote health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance within the project team.
• Drive industry best practices and technological advancements in engineering design solutions.

Key Skills:

• Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Working towards membership of a professional institution.
• Proven experience in transmission and distribution system design (33kV to 400kV).
• Knowledge in civil design, main plant design, protection & control design, and OHL and cables design.
• Experience in Electricity Network Construction Projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety requirements and compliance.
• Ability to coordinate between different engineering disciplines.
