Summary: The Technical Architect role focuses on leading the technical architecture for a new global B2B eCommerce platform within a leading international organization. The position emphasizes the use of Microsoft technologies, particularly .NET and Azure, to support complex integrations and international operations. The role is based in the West Midlands, requiring one day per week onsite, and is classified as outside IR35. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining architecture standards and ensuring the platform meets diverse operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the end-to-end architecture across Front End, Back End, integration, and data layers
- Ensure the platform supports internationalisation: multi-language, multi-currency, and regional localisation
- Establish Azure-based architectural standards and best practices
- Evaluate and select appropriate Middleware and messaging technologies
- Produce clear technical documentation and architectural blueprints
- Design and manage technical integration with multiple ERP systems (eg, JDE, QAD), CPQ platforms (eg, Experlogix), Middleware, messaging, and data synchronisation layers, and EDI systems for trading partner communication
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable solutions
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in technical architecture roles within enterprise environments
- Deep knowledge of the Microsoft stack, including .NET and Azure cloud services
- Strong understanding of integration strategies with ERP, CPQ, and EDI systems
- Ability to guide and support development teams with architectural direction

A leading international organisation is undertaking an ambitious digital transformation programme, including the development of a new global B2B eCommerce platform. This platform will enable distributors to browse and purchase products with Real Time pricing, availability, and order tracking. Built on modern technologies including .NET, Azure, SQL, and React, it will support multi-language, multi-currency, and multi-regional operations.
We are seeking a Technical Architect to lead and govern the end-to-end technical architecture of this enterprise-scale platform, with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies and integration across complex systems.
Key Responsibilities:Solution & Technical Architecture
Define the end-to-end architecture across Front End, Back End, integration, and data layers
Ensure the platform supports internationalisation: multi-language, multi-currency, and regional localisation
Establish Azure-based architectural standards and best practices
Evaluate and select appropriate Middleware and messaging technologies
Produce clear technical documentation and architectural blueprints
Integration Leadership
Design and manage technical integration with:
