Summary: The Project Manager role involves overseeing multiple programmes for a Tier 1 banking client, ensuring financial accountability and fostering strong relationships with senior stakeholders. The position requires leading multidisciplinary teams and managing all aspects of project execution, from planning to implementation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive project management experience, particularly in IT Infrastructure, and will be adept at financial analysis and stakeholder engagement. This contract position is based in Birmingham, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders within IT, Global Businesses, and Finance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager and senior stakeholders to align projects and programmes with the wider change portfolio and group strategy, values, and behaviour.
  • Provide board-level overview of progress, and lead multidisciplinary teams across all global businesses, global functions, and regions.
  • Lead the end-to-end execution and management of all aspects of the project/programme, including definition, planning, execution, implementation, governance, control, financial, resource, and change management.
  • Provide financial analysis, contextualising financial data into business activities and conclusions.
  • Identify and escalate any budgetary risks, issues, and opportunities to the portfolio/function as appropriate.

Key Skills:

  • Outstanding project and programme management experience, particularly with IT Infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication, decision making, problem-solving skills, lateral thinking, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience with Programme and Project Management methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Ability to manage positive and challenging interactions with Senior Executives across the business.
  • Strong relationship management, collaboration, and influencing skills.
  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and simply, considering the global remit of this role.
  • Financial analytical background with proven ability in financial/analytical reasoning.
  • Experience in delivering large-scale change programmes within a Technology organization, particularly with Infrastructure experience.
  • Experience in leading and managing diverse, cross-functional teams located regionally and worldwide.
