Summary: The SAP Systems Analyst at Sword is responsible for providing technical expertise and support for the SAP platform, ensuring the integrity and development of global systems in line with security standards. This role involves collaboration with business stakeholders to enhance processes and drive efficiency within Supply Chain Management. The analyst will manage system configurations, oversee vendor support, and ensure compliance with business processes. A focus on continuous improvement and effective communication is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assurance of work packages delivered by core vendors for SAP support, development, and testing.
  • Align Supply Chain processes with Materials Management, MRP, and Repairs/Returns.
  • Ensure timely handling of SAP requests and incidents within agreed SLAs, maintaining communication with business users.
  • Drive compliance with the Procure to Pay (P2P) process and support best practices across the business.
  • Escalate issues to SAP 3rd party support and liaise with vendors and business users for resolution.
  • Manage SAP system configuration and ensure testing adheres to Energy standards.
  • Maintain interfaces between SAP and external systems.
  • Ensure 3rd party support vendors develop and manage solutions to meet business needs.
  • Identify improvement areas within SCM & Logistics Processes for transactional efficiency.

Key Skills:

  • Good planning and execution skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of managing support, development, and testing of SAP systems.
  • Experience in creating technical and process documentation.
  • Familiarity with SAP HEC, S4/HANA, Plant Maintenance, HCM, and Legacy SAP Technologies (R3).

The SAP Systems Analyst serves as the technical expert for all matters related to the SAP platform. This position is accountable for providing adequate levels of support while ensuring the development, testing, and integrity of global systems, in accordance with security standards. The role also involves fostering positive and collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders and further evolving the position to achieve enhanced outcomes.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for providing technical assurance of work packages delivered by core vendors for support, development and testing of SAP Platform
  • Support alignment of Supply Chain processes with the (Materials Management, MRP, Repairs/Returns)
  • Ensures SAP requests and incidents are dealt with in a timely manner and within agreed SLA's, also securing proper communication to business users throughout the support process
  • Ensuring compliance with the Procure to Pay (P2P) process and driving best practices to support the Head of SCM, as well as stakeholders throughout the business to ensure processes are being adhered to and ERP systems are being used in the most efficient way
  • Escalates any problems to SAP 3rd party support, liaising regularly with the vendor and business user to identify resolution actions
  • Manages system configuration for SAP, ensuring all testing follows Energy standards, by liaising with 3rd party developers and business users to carry out User Acceptance Testing (UAT) whilst ensuring tests are delivered to plan
  • Maintains interfaces between SAP and other external systems
  • Ensures 3rd party support vendor develops, deploys, and manages solutions to meet defined business specific needs as defined through the product maps/lifecycles
  • Identifying improvement areas within the SCM & Logistics Processes to ensure transactional efficiency

Requirements

  • Good planning and execution skills
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of managing support, development and testing of SAP systems
  • Experience of creation of technical and process documentation
  • Experience of SAP HEC, S4/HANA (role provisioning desirable), Plant Maintenance, HCM and Legacy SAP Technologies (R3)
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage changing priorities
  • Self-motivated with a continued drive to develop own expertise and knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to liaise with various areas of the business to gather requirements for enhancements and to determine if they will add value to the business
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team taking responsibility in part or in full for the delivery of SAP solutions over multiple phases
  • Experience of working with a diverse and multi-national application vendor support model or equivalent
  • Experience of working with IS suppliers, overseeing technical delivery, working closely with multi sourcing and vendor managers
  • SAP certification (desirable but not necessary)
  • Experience working with globally deployed systems (desirable but not necessary)
