Summary: The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading procurement and logistics operations to ensure the timely delivery of essential food items to disaster-affected communities. This role requires adaptability in dynamic environments and involves building and training local response teams. The position is a two-year contract with potential for renewal, reporting to the Response Director during activations. The ideal candidate must reside within one hour of an international airport in Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond within four hours to disaster areas to manage relief operations.
- Lead and manage field teams specializing in supply chain activities.
- Design and implement adaptable response strategies in high-stress environments.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and manage supply chain teams.
- Provide regular updates on operations to the Response Director.
- Oversee inventory and purchasing management systems.
- Negotiate with suppliers and manage logistics strategies.
- Build and maintain field kitchens and manage vendor relationships.
- Work with finance to share cost projections for supply chain operations.
- Recruit and train diverse supply chain teams, addressing personnel issues in real time.
- Build relationships with local communities and represent WCK in the field.
