Job Title: Subcontracts Engineer – Contractor (12-Month Consultancy)

Overview: We are supporting a major energy project in the recruitment of an experienced Subcontracts Engineer to deliver independent consultancy services on a fixed-term engagement. This is a contractor role , focused on managing the full subcontract lifecycle — from strategy and tendering to execution and dispute resolution. This is a contract for services , not an employment contract. The role is designed for an experienced professional with a proven ability to deliver outputs with autonomy and high standards, in line with industry best practices and contractual obligations.

Scope of Work: You will be responsible for delivering specialist services across the full subcontracting process including:

  • Subcontract strategy development
  • Tendering and supplier engagement
  • Contract negotiation and drafting
  • Performance management
  • Compliance monitoring and reporting
  • Risk mitigation and dispute resolution

Your expertise will ensure value creation, cost optimisation, and contractual alignment throughout the subcontracting lifecycle. You will be fully responsible for your methods and deliverables, and will not be supervised in how services are carried out.

  • Tender management documentation and evaluation reports
