Summary: The SQL DBA role involves managing a data-heavy platform within the automotive industry, focusing on load testing, data governance, and collaboration with developers. This is a hybrid position requiring two days in the office and three days remote, with an initial fixed-term contract of three months. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration and SQL Server. The role is set to start as soon as possible, with a deadline for availability by August 8th.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load Testing Plan and Execution
- DataOps practices (CI/CD for schema)
- Query tuning & execution plan analysis
- Governance, auditing, and compliance enforcement
- Working with developers to write scalable SQL
- Proactive anomaly detection using Query Store or Extended Events
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proven experience as a DBA for 5+ years
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience with database monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, Redgate, SolarWinds)
- Hands-on with performance tuning and optimization (PTO)
- Experience in backup and recovery best practices
- Familiarity with High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) options
- Proficiency in T-SQL scripting and automation
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
