Summary: The Spectacle Technician Apprentice role is designed for proactive individuals eager to start a career in optics. This apprenticeship offers practical training in a supportive team environment, allowing apprentices to earn a full-time wage while developing their skills over 15-18 months. Successful candidates will learn to produce customer orders, interpret optical prescriptions, and ensure high-quality standards in spectacle making. Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce customer orders from scratch.
  • Interpret optical prescriptions and drawings.
  • Correct faults and reassemble glasses.
  • Carry out testing and adjustments.
  • Prepare and maintain materials and equipment.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality assured products.

Key Skills:

  • Grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
