Summary: The role of Solvency II Planning & Forecasting Actuary involves managing the production process of financial plans and reviewing Solvency II results within the Group Planning, Forecasting & Analysis team. The successful candidate will utilize their actuarial expertise to interpret results, provide insights, and prepare reports for senior management. This position is based in various UK offices with flexible working arrangements and is a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the production process of financial plans including stress and scenario projections for the Phoenix Group.
  • Reviewing and interpreting results from business planning projection models and providing insights to explain variances.
  • Producing reports for delivery to customers, including commentary on projections and forecasting information for senior management and committees.
  • Identifying improvements to the control framework and processes within the team considering wider business implications.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Actuary with suitable post qualification experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to explain complex technical issues concisely.
  • Proven ability to adapt in an ever-changing financial services environment.
  • Good knowledge of Solvency II and Life products, processes, and reporting is desirable.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and make quick, sensible conclusions from large amounts of information.
  • Experience of managing teams is desirable.

Salary (Rate): 85000
