Summary: The Solutions Architect will join the Payments team within the Core Banking & Payments business area, focusing on designing scalable and secure payment solutions. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive architectural decisions and ensure the delivery of innovative payment services. The architect will also be responsible for aligning solutions with business goals and technology strategies while maintaining best practices across payment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design end-to-end solutions for payment platforms and related systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and business needs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical architecture and integration patterns.
  • Define and maintain architecture principles, standards, and best practices across payment systems (real-time payments, card processing, SWIFT, etc.).
  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and infrastructure teams to support the implementation of architectural solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and vendors for payment ecosystems.
  • Lead design reviews and provide architecture governance throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensure security, compliance, scalability, and resilience are core to all architectural designs.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends in the payments domain and contribute to innovation initiatives.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5+ years in a solutions architect role focused on payments or financial services.
  • Strong experience in designing solutions in one or more of the following: real-time payments, ISO 20022, SWIFT, card networks, instant payments, or payment gateways.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API integration, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and security protocols.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills.
  • TOGAF or other architecture certification is a plus.
  • Experience with digital wallets, open banking (PSD2, UPI, etc.), and mobile payments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards (PCI DSS, GDPR, etc.).
  • Agile and DevOps environment experience.
