Summary: Methods is seeking a Senior Service Designer with BPSS clearance for a 6-month engagement, starting ASAP. The ideal candidate will have experience in a multidisciplinary agile team within government, focusing on user needs aligned with business or policy goals. The role requires on-site presence in Newcastle for two days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating visual representations such as service blueprints, customer journey maps, experience maps, and ecosystem maps.
  • Utilizing diagramming and collaboration tools (e.g., Miro, Mural, Figma, Lucidchart).
  • Understanding digital technologies, including web and mobile technologies, APIs, and data management.
  • Applying core service design principles and methodologies, including Human-centred design, Design Thinking, Lean Service Design, Agile, and Systems Thinking.
  • Planning and facilitating workshops with diverse stakeholders to guide discussions and generate creative solutions.
  • Aligning service design solutions with business objectives and feasibility.

Key Skills:

  • Experience as a Service Designer within a multidisciplinary agile team.
  • Proficiency in service blueprinting and journey mapping.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms.
  • Deep understanding of service design principles and methodologies.

Methods are looking for Senior Service Designer for with BPSS clearance for a 6-month engagement to start ASAP. We are looking for a working level Service Designer able to demonstrate reasonable experience of fulfilling the role within a multidisciplinary agile team working in government. We need the Service Designer to be able to demonstrate how their work would approach satisfying user needs within the context business or policy goals.

Role will require 2 days a week on site in Newcastle.

About the role

Service Blueprinting & Journey Mapping:

  • Creating visual representations: Ability to develop detailed service blueprints, customer journey maps, experience maps, and ecosystem maps.
  • Tool proficiency: Experience with diagramming and collaboration tools (eg, Miro, Mural, Figma, Lucidchart).
  • Digital Tools & Platforms: Understanding of digital technologies: Competent understanding of web and mobile technologies, APIs, and data management.

Knowledge: Service Design Principles & Methodologies:

  • Deep understanding of core service design principles: Human-centred design, co-creation, holistic thinking, etc.
  • Familiarity with various service design methodologies and frameworks: Design Thinking, Lean Service Design, Agile, Systems Thinking

Facilitation & Workshop Management:

  • Experience planning and facilitating workshops with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to guide discussions and generate creative solutions.

Business Acumen:

  • Understanding of business goals and constraints: Ability to align service design solutions with business objectives and feasibility.
