Summary: The Senior Research Assistant role is a full-time position split between a research partnership with Sport Wales Institute and a research development role within applied psychology at the University of South Wales. The position involves supporting multidisciplinary research aimed at enhancing athlete performance and contributing to the general research activities of the Applied Psychology Research and Innovation group. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid model, engaging with various stakeholders in elite sports environments. Travel may be required to meet sport representatives as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the collaborative partnership between University of South Wales and Sport Wales Institute.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research on athlete development, health, and wellbeing.
- Assist in securing research funding from international governing bodies and European research funding councils.
- Support general research activities within the Applied Psychology Research and Innovation group, focusing on sport psychology and coaching science.
- Work in a hybrid model, including remote work and on-site at USW and Sport Wales Institute.
- Travel to various locations to meet sport representatives as required.
