Summary: The Senior Quantity Surveyor role in Newcastle involves supporting ongoing projects for a leader in sustainable energy, with responsibilities including contract management and risk evaluation. The position requires travel to sites in Scotland and surrounding areas. This is a hybrid role that offers the chance to work on diverse construction projects while leveraging expertise in contract management. The ideal candidate will be proactive and commercially astute, with a strong background in Quantity Surveying.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support project managers in identifying and evaluating risks and opportunities.
- Administer subcontracts, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Manage subcontract and supplier final account settlements.
- Ensure timely submission of contractual notifications.
- Manage project changes and claims, both incoming and outgoing.
- Provide contractual advice and support to project teams.
- Develop and improve contract and claim management processes.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in Quantity Surveying and Contract Management.
- In-depth knowledge of NEC Contracts; familiarity with FIDIC and MF/1 is desirable.
- Experience with M&E and Civil construction is advantageous.
- Competence in Claim Management and commercial principles.
- Strong negotiation and collaboration skills.
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor status (RICS / CICES) is advantageous.
