Summary: This role is for a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Highways Division of a well-established UK infrastructure company. The position involves commercial management of highway maintenance and improvement projects, focusing on cost control and contract administration. A strong understanding of NEC contracts and experience in the civil engineering sector are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing commercial aspects of highways projects from inception to completion
  • Preparing and reviewing cost estimates, valuations, and final accounts
  • Administering NEC contracts and managing subcontractor accounts
  • Identifying and managing risks and opportunities
  • Supporting project teams with commercial advice and reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with company and client procedures

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the highways or civil engineering sector
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial processes
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS or CIOB) is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence
