Summary: This role is for a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Highways Division of a well-established UK infrastructure company. The position involves commercial management of highway maintenance and improvement projects, focusing on cost control and contract administration. A strong understanding of NEC contracts and experience in the civil engineering sector are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing commercial aspects of highways projects from inception to completion
- Preparing and reviewing cost estimates, valuations, and final accounts
- Administering NEC contracts and managing subcontractor accounts
- Identifying and managing risks and opportunities
- Supporting project teams with commercial advice and reporting
- Ensuring compliance with company and client procedures
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the highways or civil engineering sector
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial processes
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS or CIOB) is desirable
- Full UK driving licence
