Summary: The Senior Pensions Project Consultant role at Equiniti focuses on providing technical expertise in pensions-related project work, including benefit calculations and regulatory changes. The position requires collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with industry regulations. The consultant will manage complex projects, lead client meetings, and provide training and support to team members. This role is pivotal in enhancing the organization's capabilities in pension administration and rectification work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and take accountability for complex pensions projects across pensions rectification and calculation work.
- Prepare for and attend client reports, meetings, and MS-Teams calls, creating agendas and recording accurate minutes.
- Review and sign-off Workday timesheet entries for responsible projects.
- Perform project management role to ensure project delivery aligns with the roadmap.
- Prioritize and organize workloads to meet deadlines and maintain delivery standards.
- Ensure work complies with contract or administration practices and agreements.
- Function as a point of reference on complex, technical, and legislative queries.
- Monitor, check, and audit casework to ensure it is fit for purpose and identify training needs.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to team members.
- Support Head of Delivery/Operations regarding project and team performance.
- Lead client meetings from a project delivery perspective and engage with clients on service delivery.
- Lead training sessions on project and pensions topics.
- Identify areas within the team that require development.
- Develop technical and process knowledge for business area staff.
- Set quality targets for project work and ensure adequate process notes and guidance are available.
- Check and sign-off process and technical documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding Trust Deed and Rules, industry regulations, and pensions legislation.
Key Skills:
- Working towards Pension Management Institute or Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications.
- Exceptional awareness and understanding of pension legislation.
- PRINCE2 or Agile certification is an advantage.
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Ability to lead client meetings and support project delivery and technical queries.
- Understanding of pension scheme design and ability to engage in discussions on design issues.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to multitask and work independently.
- Self-motivated with the ability to encourage others.
- Familiarity with all types of calculations and ability to conduct independent tests of reasonableness.
- Ability to write and sign-off process notes.
- Knowledge of Compendia of all table/sets and fields is ideal.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Excel.
- Desirable knowledge of VBA and macros-enabled functionality.
