Summary: An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Stroke and Neurotherapy team at University Hospitals Dorset, primarily based at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital. The role involves working collaboratively with other therapy professionals, managing complex cases, and supervising junior staff. This fixed-term position requires a skilled physiotherapist with experience in stroke and neurological care. The successful candidate will participate in service development and training initiatives while providing patient care across multiple hospital sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct specialized physiotherapy assessments and treatment for stroke and neurological patients.
• Manage complex case management and discharge planning.
• Supervise and support junior staff and therapy techs.
• Participate in service development initiatives and in-service training.
• Rotate between various units including Stroke Unit, Early Supported Discharge, Hyper Acute Stroke unit, and Acquired Brain Injury unit.
• Participate in on-call, weekend working, and extended hours as required.

Key Skills:

• Degree/diploma in physiotherapy.
• At least 18 months of experience, including work within the NHS and with stroke/neurological patients.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Active HCPC registration.
• Ability to drive and have a car available for business use.
