Summary: The Senior Network Traffic Engineer role involves designing, building, and maintaining high-performance load balancing and traffic infrastructure for a globally recognized technology company in Singapore. The position focuses on ensuring operational excellence and reliability in network traffic systems while contributing to cloud infrastructure projects in the APAC region. The engineer will also troubleshoot issues and provide mentorship to junior engineers, working with advanced tools and technologies. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance load balancing and traffic infrastructure.
  • Ensure operational excellence and the highest level of service uptime for customers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve reliability issues using tools such as Wireshark, Envoy, and Nginx.
  • Contribute to service resiliency improvements through performance/load testing, chaos engineering, and game days.
  • Develop and implement automation and tooling to optimize networking and traffic management.
  • Work with open-source service mesh and edge deployments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams on network security, logging, and application monitoring.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

Key Skills:

  • Extensive experience in proxy and load balancing, with the ability to build and manage large-scale load balancing clusters.
  • Proficiency in networking protocols, VPNs, and connectivity solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Wireshark, Envoy, and Nginx.
  • Strong understanding of certificate management, authentication (JWT, mTLS), and security protocols.
  • Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, or similar for automation and tooling.
  • A degree in Computer Science or related field OR 10+ years of equivalent experience.
