Summary: This role is for a Senior Java Developer on a 12-month fixed-term contract with a top-ranked hedge fund in London. The position involves working on electronic trade flow systems and supporting various asset classes while utilizing cutting-edge technologies. Key responsibilities include migrating trades, building reporting systems, and performance tuning of microservices. Key Responsibilities:
- Support manual booking of all asset classes and lifecycle events.
- Migrate live trades and positions from legacy systems to new systems.
- Build an on-demand liquidation position reporting system.
- Performance tuning of Kafka and various microservices to support trading volumes and market shocks.
- Determine team priorities based on the overall project delivery plan.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience using Kafka.
- Very strong Java skills, currently using version 17.
- Ideally experience with Spring Boot 3.
- Demonstrable experience with microservices and container orchestration platforms.

Senior Java Developer (12-month FTC) Base: £130,000 ( plus discretionary bonus ) This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of top top-ranked hedge funds currently in London, working with cutting-edge technologies. They are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer to join their electronic trade flow team, working on their world-renowned trading systems across the whole fund, supporting a wide range of Asset Classes.
Overview of the role:
- Supporting manual booking of all asset classes as well as the lifecycle events which affect them
- Migrating all live trades and positions from the legacy system to the new one
- Building an on-demand liquidation position reporting system
- Performance tuning of Kafka and the various microservices to ensure we can support all projected trading volumes as well as market shocks
- The team decides its own priorities based on the overall project delivery plan.
Requirments
- Extensive experience using Kafka: Demonstrable experience working on a system at scale
- Java: Very strong Java skills, currently using version 17
- Spring: Ideally Spring Boot 3
- Microservices/ Container: Demonstrable experience on either on-prem or cloud-based orchestration platforms
