Summary: The Senior HR Advisor will be instrumental in managing employer relations casework, engaging with unions, leading change consultation meetings, and conducting job evaluations. This role requires a strong background in HR advisory functions within complex unionized environments. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a thorough understanding of employment law. The position is offered on a temporary contract basis with potential for part-time work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage employer relations casework including grievance, disciplinary, sickness, absence, capability, performance, dismissal, and investigations.
  • Work with union members on individual ER cases and facilitate consultation meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with union representatives.
  • Lead and facilitate change consultation meetings for restructuring and redundancy.
  • Conduct job evaluations to determine appropriate grading and salary levels.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in HR advisory roles with a strong background in employer relations.
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience in union engagement and change management.
  • Proficiency in job evaluation methodologies.
  • CIPD Level 5 / Level 7 qualification.

Salary (Rate): £27.57
