Summary: The Senior Business Analyst role involves engaging with underwriters and stakeholders in the London Insurance Market to gather requirements and translate them into user stories. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with underwriters and senior business stakeholders to understand pain points, gather requirements, and translate these into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Act as a Product Owner in agile squads where appropriate, managing and prioritising the product backlog to ensure delivery aligns with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and journey mapping sessions to elicit requirements and identify business value.
- Work with technical teams and solution architects to ensure feasibility and alignment with broader system architecture.
- Support UAT, including test case definition, coordination, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with Change, Operations, and IT teams to ensure smooth delivery and stakeholder communication.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Lloyd’s, company market, and delegated authority processes.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience working in the London Insurance Market, ideally within a syndicate or carrier environment.
- Proven background as a Business Analyst, with a strong grasp of policy lifecycle, underwriting, and risk data.
- Demonstrable experience acting as a Product Owner, ideally in agile/iterative delivery models.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills – especially working with underwriters and underwriting operations.
- Skilled in writing Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria (e.g., using Jira/Confluence).
- Familiar with digital transformation, data-driven solutions, and system migration or integration projects.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations in insurance.
