Senior Automation Engineer

Summary: The Senior Backend (Automation) Engineer at Hush will lead the architecture and development of integrations and automation solutions on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role requires a technical leader with expertise in low-code platforms, TypeScript, and SQL, responsible for optimizing data flows and enhancing backend integrations. The position involves managing a cross-functional engineering team and supporting e-commerce re-platforming initiatives. Hush seeks a candidate with a strong problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a cross-functional team of Engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
• Design and implement data flow architectures between diverse backend systems and external providers.
• Develop new system integrations utilizing low-code platforms and TypeScript.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, migrate, and validate data integrity.
• Deliver a robust infrastructure to support eCommerce re-platforming initiatives and enable future automation strategies.
• Identify and escalate potential risks or issues that could impact project delivery timelines.
• Break down the project requirements into actionable tasks and maintain visibility on the Kanban board.
• Partner with Project Managers to align on project progress, priorities, and deliverables.

Key Skills:

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Proven expertise in developing low-code/no-code solutions for data integration.
• Hands-on involvement in at least one project utilizing fuzzy-matching logic within systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate challenges from multiple perspectives.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
