Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
  • Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection.
  • Carrying out and managing the production of detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools.
  • Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works.
  • Writing reports and technical notes.
  • Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
  • Adhering to all quality, environmental, and governance processes.
  • Preparing fee proposals.

Key Skills:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET or working towards this.
  • Good level of computer literacy in digital tools such as CAD, Amtech, Relux, and Microsoft packages.
  • Experience in a design consultancy or contractor design environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.

Company We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Senior / Associate Electrical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join a premium global engineering consultancy in either their Glasgow or Edinburgh offices. This is a highly reputable brand with a modern office and workplace culture, offering services from M&E design, dilapidations, commissioning, technical due diligence and compliance. Looking to speak with professional, ambitious engineers interested in becoming more well rounded and commercially aware. Building types are varied included Offices, Data Centres, Schools, Healthcare and more.

Role Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems . Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc. Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, dialux, Amtech, in-house developed tools, etc. Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors. Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works. Report and technical note writing. Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards. Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes. Fee proposals

Qualifications / Experience Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
