Summary: The role of Security Cleared Linux Administrator with DevOps experience involves maintaining, configuring, and optimizing Linux-based platforms in both on-premises and cloud environments. The position emphasizes system security, automation, and CI/CD pipelines, utilizing advanced technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker. The successful candidate must hold a valid UK Security Clearance prior to starting. This is a full-time on-site position based in Bristol, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, configure, and optimise enterprise-grade Linux Servers.
  • Apply system updates, patches, and Kernel upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues.
  • Implement high-availability and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with CIS Benchmarks and security hardening guidelines.
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
  • Enhance CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployments.
  • Collaborate with developers to optimise application performance.
  • Containerise applications with Docker and manage Kubernetes clusters.
  • Monitor systems using Prometheus, Grafana and log analysis tools.
  • Respond to security incidents and enforce best practices.
  • Automate security tasks such as vulnerability scanning.
  • Manage patching, backups, user access, and authentication (MFA).
  • Maintain and enhance automation workflows using Bash, Python, or GitOps.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and document key changes and incidents.

Key Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Linux administration (command-line expertise).
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Perl Scripting.
  • Experience with AWS, VMware, Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, Firewalls, load balancers, proxies).
  • Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
