Summary: We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to join our team in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, in a hybrid role that requires two days in the office. The Scrum Master will serve as a leader and coach for agile development teams, guiding them to deliver high-quality products while promoting agile principles. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, ensuring productivity and intended outcomes.
- Coach and mentor development teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles and best practices.
- Proactively identify, track, and remove impediments that hinder team progress.
- Drive continuous improvement by analyzing team metrics and implementing actionable improvements.
- Ensure clear communication between the development team, Product Owner, and stakeholders.
- Champion Agile and Scrum values across the organization.
- Track and report on team progress and relevant metrics.
- Assist in resolving team conflicts and fostering a positive team environment.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) as a dedicated Scrum Master.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and the Scrum framework.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Experience in removing impediments and resolving team challenges.

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Scrum Master to join our dynamic team in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days per week in our Hatfield office to foster collaboration and team cohesion, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining days. As a Scrum Master, you will be a servant leader and coach for our agile development teams. You will be instrumental in guiding and empowering teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently and effectively, while upholding agile principles and practices. You will remove impediments, facilitate ceremonies, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and self-organization
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitation: Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and achieve their intended outcomes.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Coach and mentor development teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning.
- Impediment Removal: Proactively identify, track, and remove impediments that hinder team progress, escalating where necessary and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement within the team by analyzing team metrics, facilitating retrospectives, and implementing actionable improvements to enhance team performance and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication: Ensure clear and effective communication between the development team, Product Owner, and other stakeholders, promoting transparency around progress, challenges, and risks.
- Agile Advocacy: Champion Agile and Scrum values and principles across the organization, helping to embed an agile mindset and culture.
- Reporting: Track and report on team progress, burndown charts, velocity, and other relevant metrics to provide transparency and support informed decision-making.
- Conflict Resolution: Assist in resolving team conflicts and fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) working as a dedicated Scrum Master with multiple software development teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, and deep knowledge of the Scrum framework.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification (e.g., PSM I) is highly desirable.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Demonstrable experience in removing impediments and resolving team challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
